About Foundation

The Susan Cox Powell Foundation has an even stronger desire to reach out and provide assistance to other families

The services of the Susan Cox Powell Foundation will allow victims of domestic abuse to receive the support, assistance and care they deserve. This support will extend to their children, their families, and even their animals. This is a mission for which Susan would have advocated! We also hope to provide the same strong shoulder and caring heart to families of missing persons that others granted us during a difficult time. We will help families connect with existing organizations in their local area, that are able to provide assistance.

our mission

The mission of the Foundation

01
To provide an easily accessible database of resources across the United States, that may be helpful to victims and domestic abuse and their families, in an effort to create a resource clearinghouse for other families to use in their time of crises. At first, we had no idea about the number of resources available or where to turn. In our case, we were blessed that we had our faith and good friends to help, but we now are aware of many established organizations that can help. Having this information available at the time of a crisis is so important for families and loved ones. Our goal is to help others recognize the early signs of domestic abuse and encourage them to seek support and help, so that their families can be spared from the agony that arises when a more dire consequence occurs; and
02
To financially support worthy organizations that currently assist and advocate for victims of domestic abuse and their families. Some of the organizations we have assisted are The Tears Foundation, Charlie’s Dinosaur, Raising Girls and The Olive Osmond Hearing Fund. We look forward to supporting additional organizations as our foundation resources increase; and
03
As a legacy to our daughter, Susan, and our grandsons, Charlie and Braden, it is our strong desire to support domestic violence prevention efforts and to participate in community and school-based education about domestic violence prevention, with a special emphasis on recognizing the early signs of abuse. Susan’s story has helped parents and people across the nation to re-evaluate their own situations and has, no doubt, saved lives.
