How the process works
The Susan Cox Powell Foundation will continue to help in anyway and anyone that we can to make this world a safer place, helping women and children get the help that they need to save themselves from Domestic Violence. Here you can see how the process works and how to apply for a grant.

The Process
-
Step 1
The Susan Cox Powell Foundation is dedicated to supporting initiatives that align closely with our mission and values. To ensure clarity and transparency for potential applicants, we have identified certain types of proposals that fall outside our funding scope. Please review the following categories carefully to determine whether your proposal aligns with our guidelines:
Proposals Ineligible for Funding- Organizations that do not qualify as 501(c)3 tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code
- Annual funds, galas, or other special event fundraising activities
- Sectarian religious activities, political lobbying, or legislative activities
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, political affiliation or religious belief
-
Step 2
Once you determine your successful eligibility, submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to the appropriate foundation by emailing is the next step in the application process. The LOI provides us with general information regarding your organization, the request for funding and whether or not the proposal aligns with our funding priorities.
There is no deadline for submitting an LOI. Our foundations board reviews the LOI’s on an ongoing basis, but we ask that you allow 12-16 weeks for a response. The response time can vary depending on the volume of requests, the timing of proposals and our foundations monthly and quarterly review schedules.
You will be notified via email either declining your request or inviting you to submit a full application.
-
Step 3
Once your LOI has been approved, you will be notified via email to complete the application process. The email will contain a link directly to the grant application form. Fill out all the required fields of the grant application and, upon submitting your application, it will be placed in queue for the foundation to review. You will have the option to save the application and return to it, as you need.

Step 4
Once a grant is approved, you will be notified of reporting requirements. We will then proceed with issuing an award letter and funds.
-
Step 5
Upon receiving a grant from [Foundation Name], grantees are required to submit a final report within one year of the grant date. This report should highlight the outcomes and impact of the funded project or program. In addition to a written summary, grantees are encouraged to submit a short video (approximately 2–5 minutes) showcasing their project’s impact, accomplishments, or stories from individuals directly benefiting from the grant. Detailed instructions and submission guidelines will be provided upon awarding of the grant.
